OPEN LATE is an ongoing project by San Francisco based artist turned photographer Rami Levinson. Inspired by Rembrandt’s mastery of light and shadow and the portrayal of urban solitude in Edward Hopper’s work, he wields his camera to capture the subtle beauty of often-overlooked corner stores during the quiet hours of the night.

From the gritty Tenderloin district to the quiet and pristine corners of Russian Hill, Levinson captures painting-like nocturnal scenes with his unique style and aesthetic. This collection of photos taken over a period of two years reveal a side of San Francisco that is only familiar to the people who live there. Now, he's ready to share it with the world.
